Hi guys. So I wanted to discuss with you why we added paid version and why we are not actually just greedy ass EA or something like that. I am gamer myself and I get upset on these kind of things too. Upset in not the right word. Outraged maybe. I can’t stand DLCs, other shady practices and bullshits. But gamers and game devs are quite different people. Both of them look at the situation from different standpoints and it usually seems like game devs are evil. Maybe we are, idk :D. But in my opinion we are doing the right thing.

So we think that we need more financial support. That is because we are trying to go full time game dev and that is one way of doing it. Yeah you might have liked PCA as a free game but we think that we can do more with a paid game. A lot of people felt that we were way too slow to bring you updates and we were way too inactive in social medias and we feel the same way. We will solve those issues when we will go full time game dev. We really want to develop more games and release more updates to PCA just like we have envisioned it but we need more support from you guys. I totally understand if you don’t want to buy our paid game and I totally understand that a lot of you will just get a pirated version but I want you to understand that by supporting us financially you are making future updates possible. I don’t ban you from the community if you have pirated PCA Advanced, I understand that you don’t feel like the price is fair or maybe you have other problems with it but I still want to hear your guys’ ideas on how to improve the game. And if you pirated the game please buy it when you will feel that we have provided enough content and enjoyment for you to purchase the game because your support means a lot for us.

If you want to play for free still left an option. We haven’t made everything paid. You can enjoy almost everything that you had before update 1.4 and even new things that were brought with 1.4. We have locked certain features but it is really possible to play without them.

About locked features. A lot of beta testers are mad that we locked features that they were enjoying for free. But we had to test those features some way, we couldn’t just release them broken as part of a paid game and expect everyone to understand. That would have been even worse. Also we didn’t want to rip off everything from free version. We have added quite a lot of new features of 1.4 to the free version and we will keep on adding new things to free version in future updates

About locked parts. I think that it isn’t such a big problem. I just checked and there are 598 components in PCA, so almost 600 and only 84 of them are locked. That means that only ~14% of components are unavailable in the free version and the majority of them are high end parts so you can play the game without them, it doesn’t break the game.

About the beta versions. Future beta versions will only be available on PCA Advanced. That’s because it will be easier for us to manage and it won’t anger people when we will lock some features in the beta from the free game. Don’t get it wrong though. We will still update free version. We have set up both versions of PCA so that it would be easy to develop them both at the same time.

That’s only our view of the situation and we would like to hear your opinion on this situation. Let’s discuss in the comment section. Thanks for all the support guys!!!

Don’t like the new ui for the store, finally cases available in e-shop, but I have a question… would I be able to keep my career progress if I get advanced? If I could that would be great, also why’d you guys put motherboard in case menu, it was so easy and clean for the motherboard section to be outside of the case and have the cpu gpu and ram in that motherboard menu. I still love the game even if I’m only in 2015. Please excuse the poor use of commas.

Lol I said 1 question, but that didn’t go properly

you mean no UI for Eshop? Or the regular store? Saves don’t transfer to advanced mode automatically because google play doesn’t allow such things but we will publish new post on this website today that will explain how you can do it manually. GPUs and CPUs now have more slots and they wouldn’t have fitted in the same bar as the motherboard and that’s why we did it like that

Riles · June 7, 2018 at 1:50 am

I think that beta testers should get free PCAA since they were the ones that made the update so good and mostly bug free.

    Riles · June 7, 2018 at 1:51 am

    just a suggestion

      Thanos · June 7, 2018 at 4:34 am

Still for me it is not fair for the others and i helped in the beta and alpha stages of the game i even lost my progress on my small account but its ok i am just happy i helped

I appreciate that you have helped us to improve the game. That would be a very nice thing for us to do. But the problem is that we had more than 9000 beta testers and now it becomes impractical for us to do because that’s way too much people to give it for free.

      Crilingamer · June 16, 2018 at 12:18 am

The game is very good, very entertaining and original.but it is a bit annoying that you have to be paid to buy half of the items, you could let it buy even when they appear in the physical store

DaRealScooby · June 7, 2018 at 4:56 am

I understand needing funding but I feel as though we (beta and alpha testers) have been kinda screwed over by the advanced version. Now to get beta and alpha builds we have to pay money whereas they were free before. And yes, I understand change happens, for better or for worse, but that doesn’t mean we have to like it. And it’s not that I’m mad or outraged, I’m just frustrated. I think a better way to approach the beta and alpha builds would be to only release alpha builds to the advanced version and then both versions could get beta updates. Plus, if you truly have made it easy to develop both versions at the same time then it shouldn’t be hard to set it up this way.

I get what you mean about losing features that you had for free but I don’t see other way on how we could of done it differently. Advanced version wasn’t released yet so we had to get some features for advanced mode to start off. But we had to test them somehow and that’s why we made them available for everyone. I think maybe we should have disclosed that these will be paid features and maybe that would have helped a little but we were changing our own plans for quite some time so that wouldn’t have been really possible. Now about beta updates. As I said it isn’t difficult to update both versions at the same time but it’s not very practical for beta testing process because sometimes I release a couple of beta versions in one day and then the process gets really slowed down. It is not very difficult but it takes quite some additional time. Then also I might not be sure what features will be for advanced version only when I start beta testing process and your message proves that this causes problems. Because if I will lock some features that people from free version tested then I will anger them. So basically it allows me to worry about less things at the same time.

Tony · June 7, 2018 at 12:59 pm

Well if buying the Advanced version means that we support and make it possible for more updates and faster, then I am fine with it, truth should be said, there are actually no better pc simulator games in the play store, plus from what I see, I bet that the game will become even better.

memeToasty · June 7, 2018 at 8:06 pm

I buyed the advanced version anf im truly happy about it, because the features are truly awesome. I can understand that some people are upset that the advanced version costs money, but you have to admit that 2,73 Euros isnt much of a price isnt it. I mean other comparable Simulators cost 20 Euros… And I understand the fweling of giving all of his work to kne project and get nothing from it. So my personal opinion is, that i would’ve paid more if the game would cost more and other people could afford the game too because its just the price of a big mac..

How can I move my stuff from the free to the advanced version. Or buy the bitcoins on the advanced version (it won’t let me)

specify_ · June 8, 2018 at 3:25 pm

This update made me extremely excited because there are many new features I haven’t tried out. I realized that I have bought the Titan V before this update, and now I can’t buy anymore which quite disappoints me. By disabling most of the features, it mostly became a pay-to-win game. But I understand why you have to make people pay for the advanced parts.

Make sure you add the new CPUs and GPUs coming out this year. They may be the GTX 1180, GTX 2080, Ryzen 7 2800X, i7-9700k, i5-9600k, and i3-9100. Those are rumored new releases.

In addition, you should make it so Ryzen APUs dont have to require a GPU since they are integrated with Vega 9 & Vega 11 graphics. I don’t know if you did that since I don’t have PC Architect Advanced, but I’m just letting you know.

Frnchfry · June 9, 2018 at 6:21 am

Don’t worry, a great deal of us understand why you made the paid version and are absolutely fine with showing support in order to help with development. You guys keep making this game better and I couldn’t be more proud of what you all have accomplished. Thank you for your efforts!

Wolfgangfrost · June 9, 2018 at 9:25 am

Any word on an updated tutorial to explain the temp and air flow components?
Not sure if this was already asked but does my stuff transfer to the paid version? If so how?

Marko · June 10, 2018 at 6:08 pm

Can we get an update how to transfer save from free to advanced?

Samuel · June 13, 2018 at 8:45 am

Dear Games From Garage Devs my idea i posted the same one in PC Architect official discord server is that instead of having the pc architect advanced version and us needing to pay in order to get full game cuz some of the stuff are now locked in free version you guys should add like a lot of stuff avaible to purchase in game for example money(as dollars-money that is for buying pc parts, bitcoins- yes they are already avaible for purchase but you guys could add more offers like for example 1000 bitcoins that would be called a chest of coins or 100.000 bitcoins that would be called a TruckLoad of coins, etc…) or limited editions of pc parts that won’t be avaible to get in actual games e-store or local store like you would have to purchase them with your real life money) like that way i think you guys would get more than enough of financial resources(money) in order to develop this game full time.

    gfgignas · June 14, 2018 at 9:29 pm

If we would only be thinking about money then this option would probably be great. This is not a bad idea but I don’t know why you are suggesting it. If you want us to get more money then yeah this is great. But if you want a better game then I think it would’t be better than advanced version. With advanced version we charge 3$ and then give you the full experience and with your suggested system you would be constantly paying or feeling that you don’t have everything that the game offers. Now it’s just a one time payment. I think that this premium experience feels more like what we want to develop at the moment because we don’t want to ruin the game. We might be wrong about this. Actually we can be very wrong about this but we are want to test different options and PCA Advanced is one of them. Maybe we will try different options in other games that we will make. This idea is kind of a modern thing in game development and we might need to do it one day (probably not in PCA)

Look, I’ll tell you right now. I don’t like this idea IN SOME AREAS. I will say there can me a negotiatation to not only make more players happy, but also make more money. Allow me to pitch an idea.

New parts have been locked behind a paywall of Advanced Mode. Moreover, some parts previously added have been locked too, angering a lot of people, and understandably so. They were playing a game with features they once had and now they have been taken away. You need money to develop the game, so to make more a compromise needs to be stuck so you can get money and not lose fans.

I believe parts that ALL parts should be available to everyone to use. All parts, those currently free and those available only in Advanced Mode, should be able to be purchased and used by both Free and Paying players. There should however be a way to make money from thaoe once locked parts which is why i believe that parts that WOULD be premium only, now be only accessable via ad. The user would be allowed to buy this item, but would be forced to watch an ad as well as pay the in game price for the part. You now have money rolling in from Ad Revenue and players are happy they can play the full game.

Some though, are going to dislike these ads. This is where Advanced mode should be incorporated. If the player pays the fee for the mode, he or she will no longer be bound to watching ads, and will have a completely ad free experience. Players who pay will also get Sandbox mode. This is a completely different experience and as such should be separate from free players. Those who want to support the game now can and are happy. You also make extra money from these IAP’s.

You don’t have to take my advice or listen at all. I as a player however want to see the game succede and grow because this a very cool concept. But if you lock out half your fanbase, you will lose in the end. Less money will roll in because you have less players and ultimately will halt development.

    gfgignas · June 17, 2018 at 9:37 am

Your idea sounds cool and seems like it would work. Though I am not sure if ALL items would be available. I think that I would still leave 4 way sli/crossfire bridges locked because those are really high end features. But giving option to unlock all other parts with ads seems good. I will discuss this with my teammates and we will see what we can do with this

      JOHNNYB2K15 · June 17, 2018 at 1:46 pm

I have no problem with you guys locking SLI and CrossFire. They are completely new and have always been behind an IAP, so no one is losing anything they once had. My biggest complaint was that sent parts that were once free were now being locked out and that just rubbed me the wrong way. Still, that’s for taking the time to listen to some feedback. You really don’t get this kibd of care from development teams anymore.
